to ask for advice.

Can anyone tell me what this flower is ( we recieved it in a bunch of florists flowers).

The flower is about 3" long and about 3/4" in diameter,

It looks to me like a miniature Buddlea if there is such a thing or a Hebe apart from the leaves.

Yep! I have googled Veronicastrum and I would agree!

Thanks for that froglegs will keep my eye open for that and might grow some!

Edit; Just read this;

A common name for the plant is "Veronica" which is bad because the genus Veronica is in the same family but the plants are totally different.

Just another reason to learn the scientific names.

No probs TeeGee.  it's pretty tolerant, but worth buying when some flowers are showing as the colours can vary from strong to wishy-washy.
