Lovely tho isnt it!  We cause no harm, other than to our bank accounts.  It won't hurt anyone when we are feeding our addiction, in fact, when everything grows, we will be providing healthcare to our families and friends when they partake in the freshly grown produce or flowers.  It isn't offensive, unless you are easily offended and those lewd chillis upset you  ;).  And, when you think about other addictions, our is actually quite cheap to maintain....I fear that is why we all find it so hard to kick the habbit!

I think sometimes the forum leads me astray too...just when I think I have all my allotment seeds sorted, I read about a new carrot or somesuch that someone has recommended and that compells me to make another purchase ;D

Then just as I am trying to be good, there is the seed swap parcel to tempt me, although as I put seeds in too technically that doesn't count does it!

Honestly, you are all very, very bad influences on me.... ;D and I am not going to tell how many packets of seeds I have because I am too ashamed to count... :-[ but it is quite a lot... ::)
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Thing is, its the seed buying itself that may be the baddie - we could just organise more seed swaps and sharing the umpteen-thousand seeds in a packet of something that will be more than we will need for a few seasons! Just grabbed a 2006 catalogue - how long would 1200 seeds of a lettuce variety last?

Can you beat my father sowing 3 rows of webbs wonderful at once - these had perfect germination, therefore we had 3 rows of excess lettuce to rid on our neighbours, family's work colleagues....
