i have some rose bushes that are in a patch of ground that is not so good i want to clear this section of garden and start again but do not want to lose the roses so plan to move them to a better position in the garden when is the best time to do this deed :-\

Ive only ever moved rose bushes once, it was after my Mum died :'( and we were taking some things from her garden after the house got sold, the roses were planted in remembrance of my Dad :'(  So having some special meaning i really wanted to remove them safely. I did this about July and dug really deeply around the roots~with great success i might add and the roses continued to flourish in my own garden.

I was married six months ago and used those same rose bush petals for my confetti as it was my way of keeping my parents with me.

If you move them anytime now when the weather is good and prune them back to give the roots a chance to grow again you should have no problem, Do not do this if the ground is frozen or too wet. If you damage any roots when you lift them trim the ends with a sharp pair of secateurs so that it heals quickly.

You can move pretty well anything easily if the soil's damp and it's not growing. Do it ASAP.
