I have inherited an old tin bath. I didn't really want to deface it by drilling holes in the bottom, unless I really have to. Anyone got any ideas to utilise it as it is?

Fill it with water, pop a water lily in and one or two other water plants and it will make a smashing ornamental feature :).

Please take care if there any small children visiting.  ;)

Put it so the top is at ground level, put in a couple of pieces of wood so the beetles & hedgehogs can climb out, DON'T PUT ANY FISH IN as this will spell ecological doom. Get yourself some toad spawn & you'll have a fantastic slug eating population.

You can still have the lily if you want, personally I'd choose a couple of miniature ones.

put it in front of the fire ,fill with warm water, and then enjoy your soak like we used to have to do about 40 odd years ago before houses had bathrooms, oh they were the days

We had ours in the kitchen where there was no fire, but at least it was warm. Then we had a bathroom put into a brick outhouse. Unfortunately my parents neglected to heat it, it was miles from the water heater, and a bath in cold weather was an endurance test.

True Robert but why is it we all seemed so healthy,

Wish I had one to , the bloke on our plot filled it with manure and has had leeks and onions growing out of it.   ;D ;D ;D

bob flowerdew has lettuce in polystyrene trays floating in water, stops the slugs getting to them  ;D

It is; there are strains now which are resistant to antibiotics. It's been a problem round here for years.
