Having heard how marvellous hedgehogs are at eating slugs - how do I actually get one to come to either my garden or my allotment??

No idea, but if you find black droppings about 1cm in diameter and about2 to 3 cms long on your soil, you already have them.
Gardening is the great leveller.

Hi Kaz
I started by putting out the dogs leftovers on the front lawn about dusk every evening, and eventually these two little visitors used to call every evening for their supper!!  ;D

oops- photo to follow when I've adjusted the size!!  ::)

Hmmm, we've had some nysterious black droppings, I'll spare you the photo, and we do occasionally get hedgehogs in the garden.

2 + 2 = 22!

As a slug hoover he's a bit of a failure though, but maybe they're breeding faster than he can eat! They're currently going after my courgettes in the greenhouse.

Hi all this is my first post on here (I'm a refugee from the BBC boards),  I'd love a hedgehog, I have seen one in the garden but that's all.  I can't put out cat food or the cats will eat it and I have tried hedgie food but no takers.  I know there are some locally as I have seen them - any more ideas?  I have some nice juicy slugs for them.....

a nice wood pile for them to hide in? (Which could also be a home for frogs and ground beetles - all slug munchers.)
