If you have the technology, you can hear the programme again through the BBC's 'listen again' feature:

That the one that 'heston blumenthal' recomends for pizzas because of the flavour.

But its not one you ealky find the seeds for - i looked

Rhubarb Thrasher

yes you're right, I remember, and I saw the pizza thing. Seeds of italy sell it I see, but i've already ordered from there.....

I thought Sunday's programme WAS the repeat, or a meringue?

You're right, RT. I always thought Sunday's prog was the repeat -  probably confusing it with the Archers omnibus...

...stupid is my speciality!

It's quite ealky found - most of the seed firms have it  ;)

Fothergills, dobies, kings, T&M - even wilkos

yes, saw it in Wilkies today. Wasn't sure if i wanted the other varieties in the pack though. I'll think about it. Bought some red shallots instead.

As GQT is recorded anything up to a month in advance of the first broadcast, does it matter which is the repeat?

Seeds of Italy (Franchi) do several San Marzano tomato types, including one called scattolone...

yes these were the ones I ordered, before I heard Mr Flowerdew on GQT. These are a San Marzano type, but seem to be intended for storage, so maybe not quite as good as San Marzano proper. It probably makes no difference, i mean, whoever heard of a homegrown tom that wasn't nice?

Rhubarb Thrasher

cherry has very kindly sent me some San marzano seed, so i'll be able to compare them with the Scattolone toms

saddad

Well thah was an interesting half hour looking through those on-line catalogues...
