Jitterbug,

Thanks very much for the write up - the cheque's in the post!!

Next year's dates are 26th & 27th January!!!

Phil

Apologies to anyone who tried to buy varieties that we ran out of - last year was a poor year for seed production in Scotland and a terrible year on the continent (the hot dry spell came just as the tubers should have been bulking up).

Went to the potato day at Bowburn. Co. Durham today.

It was quite small-scale, offering about 25 varieties.

10am -3pm. Glad I took advice from your words of warning Phil

Make sure you get there early - popular varieties can sell out within the first hour

Phil

I got there at 10.30am and was extremely lucky to get the last pickings of

a couple of varieties.

Was a touch disappointed that there was no PFA or King Edwards on

offer.  But at 10p per tuber it is fantastic value and well worth the trip!

Will definitely be returning next year  ;)

Debs,

As I said some varieties were in short supply, PFA was one of them.

If you think that the Day you visited could be improved please don't be afraid to mention it to the organiser. We all try to make the events as enjoyable as possible.

I would check out the East Anglian day - if they have the variety you want it would be cheaper!!!

Didn't see you there, but it was a bit of a scrum in places!!
Got  Accent, Orla,Rocket,Colleen, Juliette, Malin and PFA, but all the Charlotte had gone by the time we got there at 10.30 - next year it will be an earlier start!
Veg seeds were great value as well and the crisps were good- bought two packets of them!
Tried to stop off at Hyde Hall for the Veg day, but there were massive queues so came home via a superb Thai/Indian restaurant.
A pretty good day, despite the rain and mud.
