Allotments 4 All

I have a lot of celery but it is not a great success. I could dig it up now or wait until it dies and dig it over. Will any frost kill it?

Don't understand the thing about frost being good for Celery, Kale, Sprouts etc.  It cetainly kills my celery.

With Parsnips I suppose it's possible?

Not sure I understand why frost would be good for any vegetable with a high water content?

went to Barnsdale gardens yesterday, they had earthed up their celery right to the tips! good move?

:) I thought celery was cropped in Nov/DEC or when frost threatens.Parsnips love the frost because the starch turns to sugar enhancing their flavour.

Celery is wrecked by frost. You could cover with polythene which should protect from light frost. Otherwise eat it.

When challenged by a question, it's great to have the answer on hand?
