Plot turnover is quite common on our site... I never get through a year without several corrections in the rent book! Usually reflects more on the tenants than the plot!

I've also just got a plot in  Crawley, right near the forest. I spent the good part of a month clearing and starting to dig it over then had a kidney stone that wiped me out. Hopefully I'm going to start going back up there this W/E and get it looking as good as yours.

Thanks, I hope you get better soon, and don't over do it. Get some plastic down and just do it bit by bit. I have been lucky in that I have been able to do lots of short sessions of an hour or two on most days over the last couple of months, thanks to my work pattern. I have manged to finish it this week, all bar the area in front of the shed which will be grass, and a nursery bed, which I hope to dig next week.

Are you a member of the Horticultural Society over at West Green? If not, it's certainly worth joining. At the moment the subscription is £10.50 for 4 years, but it will be going up soon so get in quick. At the moment it's open Sun mornings only between 9 and 12 am, but only until 10th Dec.

Looking good Steve. We are first timers and were pleased to find a source of free manure. Find the closest stables/riding school. They are only too glad to get rid of the stuff for free.

At last I can say I've finished for the winter. All dug, raspberries and blackberries in and bean trench dug. Back just about held out. I will try and do some more pics tomorrow if it's still light when I get home from work.

I have now found a source for manure. It does cost 50p a bag, but it is allready bagged
up and it is sort of on my way home from work, so I can just pop in and get some without having to get dirty. Good stuff as well, although fresh.

;D  stick an old carpet on the manure Steve and let it rot down  the soil doesn't like it too fresh.

So far I have used 5 bags in the bean trench and one for my blackberries. although I might regret this. Used compost for the raspberries. The rest is still in bags. I am hoping to get some pallets soon to make a pen for it, then as you say cover it over or use it for the potatoes. Most of the other beds have green maure in.

Time to give my back a rest and get back on my bike for some more exercise.
