Hi everyone   ;D

I have dug over my plot and added a small amount of compost to the top layer, what else should i do ?

Do i need to get some slow release feed?

Got most of my seeds for next year and going to order some onion sets and seed potatos soon.

Cant wait to grow more!!

Treat veg like babies - once they are settled in/established give them real food ;) - April/May is first feed here.
Spuds are a different matter, lots of muck.
You could be digging a trench where your runners are going and start to fill it with the contents of the compost bin, grass cuttings, leaves etc. Very satisfying :D

are you wanting any soft fruit or trees, these can go in while the ground's still workable, and they're cheaper at the moment as they're bare rooted if frost's coming, we mulch the roots with some straw or something, just to keep the roots warmer  :)

Lean back, admire the plot and have a beer.... soon be busy season again... can hardly wait!

If you intend to grow flowers on your plot in addition to food crops now is a good time to plant spring and early summer flowering bulbs and they are about half their original price everywhere at the moment. ;)
