Allotments 4 All

Ok - might be a silly question, or you may have already covered it...

When I get an email message saying I have been sent a Personal Message, I try to follow the link in the email that says "Reply to this Personal Message here:". When I click on this, my internet browser opens up, but it never opens up the A4A website. I just get a message saying page cannot be found. ??? I can get to the message if I directly go to the website.

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

hi EmmaLou, you're as normal as I am ::)   I'm still getting this too, both PMs and notifications, randomly, ie sometimes the link works, sometimes it doesn't. Only consolation is that I now know I'm not alone ;D

Glad its not me being stupid!  ;D

It seems to be ok when I follow links on emails sent notifying me of replies to topics.

Hmm strange one!

Anyone else have any ideas why this is happening?

I now have an example of this, so can investigate.

I will now say that it has also happened with the notification to this post you just made. I had the forum open, but wasn't logged in. I then logged into the forum and then the link from the email worked.

I will go and test my PM's links.

Have just tested and it has worked fine. It obviously needs me to be logged in first to be able to follow the links.

Ok so it hasn't worked again even though I am logged in.

Clicked on the link in my email to view the topic reply - a new internet window opened (even though I already had A4A website open and logged into on another window) - this new window said "The page cannot be displayed" - web address shown was:
http://%20http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/joomla/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,91/topic,25416.new/topicseen,topicseen

Silly me, I thought: 'Cor, something on A4A must have been an issue raised in parliament!'
