Well I`ve ordered some seeds for next year,it will be three years since my last attempt-any tips?

Yes I do have a couple of greenhouses and a polytunnel,and some heat.

Tried Okra for the first time this year. Very litte experience to share, but this is it:
I got about 8 fingers from 3 plants, 7 other plants did nothing except flower. And they were pretty, so no complaints here.

The plants were very small, 25-30 cm. high, and I think they definitely need protection against wind. Next year I will put some canes and plastic around them.
Also to retain the warmth during the night. I'm in the Netherlands (centre) and our summernights can be 10C cooler than the days.

One plant produced a very large okra. I left it to ripen for the seeds. Tell you about the results next summer. In exchange for your experience?

8 from 3 plants... mmmm - not exactly a bhindi bhaji is it :(( might have to grow the whole packet!

My first year, I grew okra mammoth from HDRA, I've saved seeds if anyone wants some. The plants seemed to take ages to get going but with the June/July heat they grew as quick as weeds!!! We harvested loads but I supose the Spanish sun helped!! Worth growing just for the flowers!!

Never had any sucess in Sunny Derby, even in the greenhouse. As Biscombe says being in Spain probably helps!

I managed to grow a beautiful, sturdy, but tiny plant.  It threatened to flower, but I either missed it or they failed.  No Okra  :'( :'( but fun growing.

I used seeds given to me by EJ. 1 plant survived & started to produce, in a pot in the g/house....then pot got knocked over, plant smashed :'( Still got some seeds left to try next year - and I WILL!

only grown it once and the flowers are truly beautiful but they are low yielding plants and you need enormous amounts of them to get a decent crop unless you are lucky enough to live in spain  8)

Ended up with just 6 plants, who struggled and fussed and did nothing but curl up and die!  Must try harder!

I got two plants to flower last year in my greenhouse, pretty hibiscus like flowers, but one got one tiny pod! :'(

Well, the okra mammoth plants are coming to an end and the plants are taller than me and I'm not a short a***!! Got enough seeds to share with 5 people and more to come! Not lookin for a trade I'll gladly send you lovely lot some from Spain  ;)
