Thanks for all the suggestions..

Moonbells... will get myself over to Seeds of Italy and make a purchase!
Thanks! :D

Oh wasn't that funny meeting in the shop like that!

Nice to meet you :) and sorry I was in such a rush - could have done with an extra half hour. I was only 5 mins late back, so not too bad...

Still have niggling feeling I forgot something!

yes.. what a coincidence bumping into you at Seeds of Italy! bought the passata maker, big funnel and jars... could have bought tons of stuff but had to resist.  Very nice chap... but he talks more than anyone I have ever met!  ;D

Redman: this wouldn't be a bilingual English/Italian bloke with (as I remember) some neatly trimmed face-fur, would it?
If so, I met him recently at a horticultural show thingy -- and yes, he seems to be able to talk without ever needing to draw breath!

Yes, I always forget he chats for Europe... and it's tricky when one has only an hour for lunch!

But immensely helpful despite that.

I picked another heap of tomatoes last night, from my poor flattened plants (thanks, weather!) and so I'll hopefully have a passata and pasta sauce and ratatouille session on Saturday. Have two nice fat aubergines waiting, and no need to comment on the courgette situation!
