Growing this for the first time, so how do i know when it's ready? Florets seem to be forming but they look rather grey/yellow rather than green. Is this due to lack of nutrients?

Wicker

Hi Caroline - not much help but ours are the same so I'll be interested in the replies.  We are growing a different variety thisyear but I can't find packet/remember name - usually grow Trixie which is dark and dense but couldn't find any this year.

This variety is much more open, prone to "crumble" and a dusty grey/green, I thought it was maybe the long spell of hot dry weather but I did water a LOT!
Equality isn't everyone being the same, equality is recognising that being different is normal.

calendula

calabrese should be flourishing now and already for quite some time as well but it will carry on producing until the frosts and you can pick the heads any size you want, always be on the look out for cutting before they go to seed - maybe sow earlier?
