Good timing or what, eh?

I'm going to a combined conference and summer school for "young" researchers - though in this business that means under 35 as long as you haven't yet got a post as a lecturer!  Actually it looks like most of the other attendees will also be PhD students. Unfortunately this means leaving OH here since she's now in 3rd trimester, when you are advised not to fly or travel too far away. :( When I applied, a good month before we knew, the intention was that as my travel & digs would be paid for we could afford the extra for her to come with me...
And of course the 'lottie will have to take it's chances, but it's been doing that most of the year anyway ;)

Flying out early on sunday from Manchester to Amsterdam and thence to Stockholm. Assuming not too delayed there is then a bus layed on to take us up to the venue in Alvdalen. It's about halfway up Sweden, in the middle just near the border with Norway, similar climate to this country by the sound of things.

You won't be seeing much from me for a while after this afternoon, so take care of yourselves. I shall leave you with the dubious gift of a picture (see relevant thread), so that you can wave at me if you too are queuing in an airport at the same time ::)

cheers
Pete

Pete - my thoughts go with you - and all the others who have to go that way.

As to OH, well advised - the queue might have seen an addition??

Safe journey and hopefully not too much waiting around.
