Thank you very much everyone for your warm wishes.  I had a lovely day making Mirabelle jam and taking out all the stones in the process.  It has actually set though which is more than I can say for the redcurrant jam made last year from a neighbours recipe.  She didn't tell me to add pectin!  ::)

Yesterday, my hubbie bought me a bunch of flowers, the first time ever in 32 years of marriage.  I was really taken aback.   When my children were born, I never got flowers, just a pot plant when I got home as they "lasted longer".  Everyone elses husbands were coming into the hospital with huge bouquets and I had no flowers at all beside my bed!   :'( :'(

I can't complain though: he is a very hard working husband.  He also bought me some Sheridan and I drank half of it when watching Dr Zivago on TV.  I fell asleep in the middle of it but fortunately the film is being shown every night this week so I may record it tonight.   ;D

Back to normality today.  We have someone coming to see about the wasps nest in the loft of a single storey extension and someone else coming to put down some rat poison.  I think I will make myself scarce when they open the hatch where the wasps are.    ;)
