Allotments 4 All

Every now and then Metcheck seems to come up with extraordinary forecasts. This is from the 8-14 day forecast for my area showing act temp then feels like. I can't work out what extreme conditions would make 16C feel like 1C! Perhaps it's a combination of global warming and the next Ice Age.

Knowing that even a 3 day forecast is only 30% realistic, one should not be surprised by the odd funny in the long term. Keeps you on your toes?

depressingly on the late news last night they cheerfully informed viewers that they are now on autumn watch ...

Still, if those temperatures are right, I might finally be able to get some sleep!

My outside thermometer which is in the shade showed nearly 40c this morning about mid day. It is not a scientific instrument but it normally shows about the right temp. give or take a degree.

I have had to give up work for the day as the heat has just drained all the energy right out of me. I am now going to take my boat out to the middle of the solent and sit in the sea breeze, perhaps I will catch a couple of fresh mackeral to have for my tea.

They predicted rain for us today, unbroken sunshine. I will take the forecast with a very large pinch of scepticism.
