Aphids in sprouts

Right down in the middle of my very healthy sprouts are thriving colonies of white aphidy things. You virtually have to peel back all the central leaves to find them but they are there!

The plants are getting big and healthy so should I leave them there or attack in some way.

The problem is working out how to get at them with anything.

Any ideas

I use the thumb method, followed with a wash from the hose pipe, messy though! If you leave them the good guys will get them but you may loose a few plants!

I noticed the same thing last night whilst checking for caterpillars and cabbage white eggs.  I ended up squashing them with thumb but was worried about damaging the leaves too much.

I'd be interested to kow if there is another organic way of dealing with them.

Possibly

But I tend to find white fly is more common, but with out a bit more detail hard to say!

Still, we have both bases covered and the treatment is much the same!

True!
:)

I've got an awful attack of cabbage aphid at the mo - they get right in the centre under the concave leaves where you just can't squirt anything and much as I dislike derris, it works better than the fatty acid/soft soap. Though confess that squirting the soap and then derris (to glue it on!) is my preferred solution.

FIre alarm. ugh. Just what we need.
