Beautiful.  Was that in your garden?  I want one!

It was on my rhubarb. They breed in stagnant water; have you any about? My site is near the canal so we see a lot of them.

my pond is extremely new (still looking for edging stones), but I have had some damsel flies visit on a couple of occasions - two red and one blue - which was quite exciting.  Thought they were dragon flies til I looked in here and saw Georgie's photo.  The ones I saw had solid coloured bodies.

Suspect I won't get much done next year, already spending lots of time peering into the water looking for any movement !

You never know, but you won't get many from a small pond; the larvae are extremely predatory and decidedly antisocial. It will attract whatever's in the area though.
