Allotments 4 All

I've been away for 2 weeks and returned to find that something has been munching on my brassica leaves, luckily the still seem to be doing ok.  Before I went away I covered the area in coffee grounds in the hope of deterring any slugs.

What I'd like to know is, if it's slug damage should there be visible slime trails on the leaves?  I can't see any actual creatures on the leaves, or slime trails, only cabbage whitefly underneath, and the odd cabbage white egg that I've removed.

If the leaves are badly torn birds are more likely, are they netted? If they are then slugs and snails are the prime suspects!

They're not netted..didn't have time before going on hols.  Will try and get a photo up.

I removed a number of eggs from the brassicas. I noticed that my turnip leaves are holey - flea beetle?

If it isn't the pigeons eating your brassicas, then look for catterpillars.
