Only seen 2 cabbage whites this year - and I'm SO good about mesh etc. Just doing a changeover of cover this morning & found one Calabrese plant decimated by caterpillars.

There must be a lesson there somewhere?

don't change the covers?

;)

the mumma probably got trapped under the previous cover and thought, that's another fine mesh you've got me into ;D

We haven't seen many either this year, strangely enough - perhaps the prolonged winter! I always net everything, for as well as cabbage whites we have lots of pigeons on our site, so unless you want your brassica completely decimated it's the only way to go, but I suppose "where there is a will there is a way"!  :) busy_lizzie

Busy_lizzie: "We haven't seen many either this year,"

Do you think that's because they're all under tim's cover?

;D

One thing I like about mesh - which I have just put on - is that you can see the ....... when they get in.

Was feeling much the same about the absence of sawfly on my Solomon's seal until the other night!
