Thought I'd be clever. Covered them with fleece to keep the bugs off.

Thought I'd check - although some types of bb are now less dependent upon insect pollination, the difference can be three-fold. So - off came the fleece!!

i have had a good crop of my broadies already - though the tops are now covered in blackfly, making this an ideal lovenest for ladybirds (every single one coupling happily)

however, have also noticed what i think is bean weevil - all the leaves have semi-circular holes chewed out at the edges. :(

another couple of meals to go, and then we will clear them. will do the same next year. early broadies are great :D

when do you know when they have had it?

If only the l/bs would concentrate more on eating blackfly than on sex, it would be very helpful!!
