Allotments 4 All

I spend half my time in the garden cursing them, but when you get up close, dandelions have a certain charm... ;)

Fab photo!  Aren't all flowers amazing when you get up close and personal?  Today I was oiking out forget me nots which seed all over my allotment, and they are such pretty flowers from pinks through to dark blue.  I let them run riot in my garden, but not on the plot....can't eat them can I!!

Someone was telling me today that he used to have dandelion biscuits in his youth? Seems weird to me - though he was American, so maybe they have different tastes to me  ;);

They're good bee plants, so they do have their uses. As the willow comes to an end, they start bringing in loads of orange-yellow oily pollen from the dandelion, and that keeps the brood fed for a while.
