I use a password to access my MSN mail. After I close it, to access it again I need to type in my password again. That should assure me that access to my MSN needs me to key in my password. Sounds about right, but....After I close the program, if I go into explorer and click on history, I see I have been to my MSN site. From the history list, all I need do to get back into MSN is click on MSN in that history list. No password required....!
How's that for password security!

you have to 'log out' using the link to make sure a password is required.

Which link is this this Diesel?  - tried using sign out on the MSN mailbox, still can access through history.
Only way I can see is Tools, internet options, clear history, click ok. Then you lose history of all visited websites.

the .net passport sign out link.It should be at the top of the page somewhere.
I don't actually use hotmail myself but I know the passport may keep you logged in if you don't specifically log out from it.

To log out of MSN isn't a click away. On closing, I'm given the option to 'Close MSN' which I do. The fact that I have to use my password to open MSN again tells me that closing the program means I have logged out.
I understand what you're saying Diesel, but as I said, if I close MSN I can't get back in without my password but the program is still operable and my mail is visable via 'history'. Not good.

kenkew, just had a look at my msn and do not know why it should be doing that to you I have no problems with it, Just a thought in the box on the msn page where you sign in there are three options to tick,

1..save my emailaddress and password
2..save my email address
3..always ask for my email address and password

have you chosen one of those if not, try ticking the second option and see if that makes any difference

Can you open your MSN just from your 'History'...that's what's happening here. Also didn't like the fact that it told me who had been kicked off 'The Apprentice' two days before it was on TV.

MrsKP

that's microsoft for ya !  all loopholes will be dealt with after enough punters beta test software and report "faults".  saves them doing the job properly to start with i guess ;D

Correct in the same way that you can set this site to always stay logged in. It was the same in VAXchat which became VMSchat which is now IM.
