Allotments 4 All

My avatar re-sized itself today, I have made no changes and used it for ages with no problems..
I notice some other members avatar have also changed size
What's going on  ??? ???

I noticed those changes and was amazed. Afterwards I considered, the avatar is normally a standard size irrespective of the size of the original image. Could the code that standardises the avatar have been corrupted. Dan?

Certainly some of them, like Topsy (or EJ's gorgeous little nephew in her new re-sized avatar), have growed and growed...  ;D

The way avatars are handled has changed.

Previously everytime an avatar was displayed it was resized, this loads the server quite heavily.

They should now be resized as they are uploaded, so the sizes should standardise over the next week or so.

I thought that we did it by religiously/modestly sticking to 100/150  thingies??

Perhaps I was half right then (ie also half wrong!) in that the code has been changed, rather than corrupted. At least I can pretend to understand how these things work  :D

Tim, I guess everyone is not as diligent as you, I will confess I have slipped too. It looks like Dan's alteration is a 'catch all' solution ...
