You'll not get free webspace without a catch. Especially if you want PHP and SQL/mdb access.

You could get free no advertising hosting by a pay as you go ISP but these dont usually offer the extra services,

You can get most of what you want via supanames for £13.99 a year

... however cheap php and mysql will probably be hosted on an (li)unix/apache server, access mdb's on a windows server running IIS and frontpage extensions tend to cost a little more

Is there such a thing as a provider who includes FTP or does FTP always have to be paid for seperately? If so, which one do people regard as good and cheap?

Hi Kenkew
FTP - File Transfer Protocol is the method of transferring files to your webspace.

Any ftp program could be used to do this,  some ISP's will sell you or provide  a FTP program. However there are plenty of freeware programs that can do this for ehh free. EG:-

http://www.smartftp.com/

In fact you could do this without any program just by using your computers command prompt and a knowledge of MSDOS (not recommended.)

So in answer to your question (i think) you should never pay to ftp

Thanks Glow. That's certainly worth a closer look. I've saved the URL and will study it after I'm back from the plot. Cheers. Ken.
