Allotments 4 All

I had my first PTA meeting today at my son Will's,  new school & managed to get myself signed up as a commitity member!
In the casual chat afterwards, I happened to mention that I did a bit of gardening at Will's playgroup & made that little incectopia (log pile) for them.
It was then that one of the other members said that they were keen to develop a corner in the playing field to an outside classroom incorperating a Wildlife Garden, & that I'd be an ideal choice to help out in that area!

So to make it sound like I know what I'm talking about I thought I get some good ideas from you guys first!  :D

Perhaps you could incorporate a Budlea to encourage butterflies :)

Some good clumps of stinging nettles, preferably well back from paths.

You'll find plant suggestions if you click on wildlife friendly plants and then on the one called garden with native plants (the one called garden organically is also recommended for a wildlife garden).  There are a whole load of other ideas though.

...and definitely grow lavender and verbena bonariensis for bees & butterflies.

Try to incorporate as many native plants as possable. They are what our native animals need these days. Haw thorn, Hazel, etc. :)
