Allotments 4 All

Ok what have you all got growing in the lottie's or garden that is going to grace the Christmas Dinner Table? :D
Well I have cabbage, calaberise?, leeks and potatoes dont know if the latter will last that long but hubby is hoping for fresh spuds on his plate.

Well, my spuds are all safely bagged up in the shed (3 varieties to choose from) along with the onions, but there are plenty of carrots, parsnips and leeks still in the ground, as well as stacks of peas, broad beans and runner beans in the freezer - we certainly shan`t starve.

We have new potatos growing in the polytunnel. they may be a bit small, but they are going to be eaten at Christmas.
I have also got a pot of mint in the greenhouse. (I am a heathen who likes mint sauce with everything!)
We have got purple sprouts this year, and they are looking nice. I just hope they taste good too. Has anyone ever tried them?
The winter lettuce is also in the polytunnel, and nearly ready for eating, should be OK for a salad when we are tired of spuds.

As I only took on my plottie in the late summer, the only veggies I had were from my mini veggie patch in the garden, however, I do have runner beans, carrots, broadbeans and lightly stewed apples in the freezer, garlic hanging in the shed and  plenty of herbs overwintering in the greenhouse.  All in all, not a bad contribution for the Christmas table!   ;D
