It must be a wind up judging by the 'grow with tender loving care' comment.

Ooooh!  So who is going to get some?  I believe they are genuine.   I did a web search and came up with: http://www.chillifarm.com/chilli_pepper_seeds/PETER_PEPPER.asp

I know why they are called "Peter Peppers".  When my brother was born my father and grandfather wanted to call him William as the name goes back in the family for generations.  My mother objected to the name saying that it would get shortened to "Willie" so he was called "Peter" instead.  Several years later, my brother married an American and has lived in the USA for 23 years.   Guess what they call a thingy out there?  You've guessed it.........it's a "PETER".

One can only hope so - if only to revel in the mental image of the scene during the judging at the WI produce show...  ;o)

It never ceases to amaze me the subjects we discuss on these boards !!!  ;D

And yes, if I could get some seeds, I would grow them too ...

Think I'll order some, grow them, and act like I haven't a clue what they resemble......watch peeps struggle with whether to say anything or not ;D ;D ;D!! Though with the shapes of my veg so far, don't think anyone would notice... ::)

I was thinking of doing the same Lottie, just leaving them on the worktop ...  ;D ;D ;D

This reminds me of a visit to the Savill garden. It was a glorious autumn day and we sat down on the grass under a tree, only to find the ground littered with very curiously shaped seedpods ;D! The tree is Magnolia sprengeri 'Savill'. I'm growing a seedling from one of the seeds. It's very slow growing ; I'll probably have to wait a decade before it produces its own rude crop!

Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.
