I've done everything I can to get my school web site to show up on Google short of  shelling out loads of cash and nothing has worked so far.  The advice is to hide key words in the web site code.

dont use static website design, but dynamic. the simpler the code, the easier for the search engine to trawl through the words to find the key words you are searching for. also it takes a little while for the spiders to have done their work.

I found mine had got picked up somehow without me doing anything, and without anyone else linking to it!

You probably already do so but use meta tags to describe your site. Put them in the head of the HTML file.

Example:
<head>
<meta name="keywords" content="crabs, dancing, crabdancing, carb, dance, idiot">
<meta name="description" content="How to dance like a crab and other
things to help you avoid thinking about your sooner-than-you-think death.....">
</head>

The description is what will the description that is shown by the search engine.

U got it MOD, the more words you put in the description, the greater chance of getting a "Hit" on a general web search.    {:¬)#
