That's the dross. Barely enough for a good green tomato fry-up!!

PS - Meaning, of course, not too many unripened.

I think they look great!!....silly questions but....

can you really fry green tomatoes??

do you add anything to them for flavour?

will they give you stomach ache?

just inquisitive  ::)

Mine tomatos are still going strong!! getting about 30 red ones a week, we are now picking off the green ones too and making a gorgeous green tomato cake.

1. Of course!
2. Not really.
3 No!!

I use oatmeal. Cut them thick. This is one site that keeps coming up. You'll often find green toms pink inside.

I just found a book today "Gardening made Easy"  ( laffs at that) by Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall  .. is she his (a) mother (b) wife or (c) just one of those weird coincidences ?     {:¬)#   < ... genuine question by the way  ....

Jane is Hugh's mother and also author of 'The Good Granny Guide'

That looks about the extent of my whole crop ... a terrible year for tomatoes.

Now if you had been talking carrots ...

There is always next year ...
