This is Colchicum alboplenum. It came from Hidden Bulbs in St Austell Cornwall.
The second is probably Crocus banaticus, grown from seed.

I hadn't realised there was a bulb specialist near St. Austell. Do you know if they have a website? My mother lives not far away, and I could visit when I'm down there.

Robert, Hidden Bulbs is our very own 'Deeds' company.  The site is :http://www.hiddenhousebulbs.com/
