Ooh I'm very envious of those who have garlic!  I've eaten all mine cos am greedy and my new stock has not arrived from Dobies (no surprise there given their current track record  >:()
I came, I saw, I composted

Years ago I got some garlic from a chinese man at work ( working in a international compagnie in the Netherlands- with 65 allotments for the people- gards- safe, showers etc etc) and every year I get more and more  huge juicy garlic. Put some 24 cloves in the soil, in July and good result every year :P

blight

@Lady Cosmos
how enormous is it then? I can only see that it´s beautiful
Is it what they call "elephant garlic", which is rather mild in flavour?
Did you plant it last autumn or this spring?

Lady Cosmos

Blight, the gloves are about 5 cm. I plant them, the chinese garlic, always the last days of Octobre, about 20 cm deep, they need a time of cold weather.
Every year you get more and more of them, so now 50% of my fellow- gardeners is growing these big ones.
Taste is milder than the small garlic, they are very juicy and I think that these ones grow much easier than the small ones.
Plantes in Octobre and harvest between August and Octobre ( depend of the weater)
