At last we have finished the murdering of all the brambles on our plot. ;D
We are now going to start diging all the grass and roots out starting tomorrow. We have marked out plots of 6 foot wide by 10 foot long and will concentrate on each plot we mark out before moving on to the next one. The place looks so different now and a lot more open and fresh. The huskies love digging so we might take them down to help lol ;)

Thanks  Undercarrage plan lol  ;)
Thanks kentishchloe  :)

Well here we are . I tried to get the full impact but as I said before a picture doesn't give the full effect.

I think it has made all the difference  to see how much space we have. :)

Just make sure you're careful......will put wine in fridge til Friday! ;D Will need it by then, hoping to clear a new bit on mine on Friday PM, and weed the PT. I did resist Dad's offer to spray though, was so tempted!! But figured I'd have to dig it over anyway, so what the heck!!

supersprout

Great stuff Jill, you must be praaad! ;D It probably seems like months of bramble scramble to you, but looking at your pix it seems you've worked miracles in just a few days ... Enjoy that drink, look forward to rotavator tales! ;)

joji

Thanks  Lottie but don't worry . Been trained on how to use one . ;D

Thanks SS it has only taken 3 weeks to get that lot cleared as well as quite a few days where the weather wasn't in our favour  so had to miss about a week in all so not bad.
Wales these days is really wet and cold so with dodging the torrents and storms we have had lately we are so proud that we got it done so quick  and before the frosts too. ;D

spacehopper

Wow Jill, there's a lot of work gone on there!  :D
Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.

kentishchloe

I drank your pint for you   ;)
Will replace it at the weekend - happy rotivating  ;D

Nice work, looks very different to the earlier pix.  And is that your shed on there?  Very envious of that.   ;D

Andy
Couch grassin', ever diggin', bed mulchin', back breakin', poo spreadin', slow livin', veg growin'....Andy!

joji

Thanks everyone :)

Yes Andy C that is a shed that was left on the lottie when we took it over. It is actually an old chicken shed and is quite rotten. We will be replacing it in the spring. Will do at the mo for storing everything in even if our house is only 30 seconds away from the plot. ;D

wardy

Just seen your pics.  You've got loads done already (putting some of us to shame  :-[)

Been on my plot today (took the dog) and it was lovely.  Cleared some courgettes out and some squashes.  Did a bit of weeding and feeding, and sowed some cabbage seeds which are now sitting in the shed window hopefully germinating  :)

The best thing about the morning was that someone has offered me a free greenhouse, oh and picking enough veg to make lunch  :)

I hope you have as much fun with your plot as I do with mine.  I don't like hard work though  :)  Like SS says you must be dead praaaad  ;D
I came, I saw, I composted

joji

Lol Wardy

Why would I put any of you lot to shame ?

It is one of those things that just had to be done and I wanted it all finished before the cold weather set in. I don't mind the cold weather it is just me I am like that once I got my mind on some thing I got to finish it. ::) :-[ :)

Plus brambles are harder to see when there are no leaves left on them. And so more dangerous. :)
