Lo all

Just seen the funniest programme - The Art show, How to watch television.  It highlighted the ridiculous nature of TV in a way I havent experienced since I saw the dichotomy inherent in Why Dont You (just turn off your television set and go and do something more interesting instead).  If you didnt watch it, you'd never find out what it was that was more interesting instead!

So I'd like to start a debate - if someone explains how I do a poll, I'll do that, otherwise...

TV - a good thing, potential learning experience with selective viewing
TV - a bad thing, mind sapping moron creating simplistic twaddle
or
TV - its a box

Hi Mysticmog, I like progammes about history and I enjoy a good film.  I used to like The League of Gentlemen when it was on, I found it bizarre but very amusing...........I have a strange sense of humour!  ;D

Ah, I share sense of humour!  League of Gentlemen was inspired!  Have you managed to catch Little Britain?  I don't know which is more amusing, the characters or the voiceover by God himself, Tom Baker  ;D

The voiceover "Britain has more than 10 cinemas" proper cracked me up...

What about Jam, Chris Morris's latest, I'm almost the only person who actually thought it was funny, maybe that says something about me (or about Chris Morris...)

Really, I cant see the big deal myself, that or the league of gentlemen. I prefer the old classic comedies myself

By the way Sue you do realise your avatar is taken, dont you. When I joined I got into BIG  trouble for using that cat (known as Cleo). People thought I was pretending to be someonelse.

Just a friendly warning you know. ;)

Th league of gentlemen is superb IMHO and can be sinister at times - remember the circus coming to town ? It's cult viewing though - I find that it's a case of love it or don't understand it there's no middle ground, no onne that can say they can take it or leave it. That's my experience anyway.

are you local ?

OOhh jealous Beerbelly, Holland is such a fantastic place - I had a friend lived their for a while and I'd visit as oft as poss as everyone I met (was hitching by the way) was so spot on  - I like the political thinking out their, tis historically heirarchical here....

And the Pot(s) of plants...
