Erm... chairs were where kids were "saving" the worms :-, each had a pile of dirt on it, and they were covered up and fed, had a drink and released into lottie  ;D and for me to stand on cos couldn't reach top!! Don't you like the new tent, Roy??? Thought I'd got a bargain!!!  ;D Lottie ;D

Lottie. Today I spent ages reducing my conifer hedge by about3/4ft, had to do a lot with loppers as branches were too thick for hedge trimmers.. Luckily my late husband bought me  that thing ladder each end and platform joining them so this old girl was quite safe ;D I have done about half of the hedge so far BUT I was thinking  Gee that is real hard work until I looked at your trench NOW THAT DOES LOOK LIKE HARD WORK .Well done. Though I didn't wear eye patch! And have lost a bit of weight ;)Hedge cutting not pleasant!! Like the sound of your ladder Lorna. Think we both deserve a glass of wine or 3!! Lottie  ;D

Lottie.. may I have brandy and lemonade please.? Just going out to do a bit more to hedge but methinks it maybe too warm. The ladder thing was originally bought for me to SAFELY paint ceilings (when Charlie was no longer able to do the decorating) but it is so useful, you don't get the aching legs by balancing on step ladders and of course you can walk along the platform to reach a bigger area..
