Walking (or should I say hobbling) around the 'estate' this morning I notice that three of my potato plants have been dug up by some animal (four legged variety this time I believe)

Who or what is the likely culprit?

What with badgers attacking the sweetcorn last year the pigeons scoffing the brassicas and now this... I wonder if 'the' obsolete Dome would be transportable make my plot pest proof.

Could be foxes trying to bury something maybe....the deer are our normal lottie culprits.

Thanks E.J.

I did ask around at the lottie yesterday and favourite seems to be foxes...theyb are apparently after the worms...we don't have rabbits but several families of foxes.

Other thoughts include the badger or squirrels

I'd get some rabbits for the foxes  ;D - without a reliable food source like that they will dig for worms and slugs when they are hungry.

Foxes have a pretty marginal existence; invertebrates make up an important part of their diet. So if they're around, they will dig for worms at times. At the same time, they get rid of a lot of small rodents; you probably gain more than you lose.
