Clematis collection

Thought you might like to see some of the Clematis in flower today in the garden. There are others, but I cannot reach them as they have decided to flower at the top of various trees.

absolutely beautiful  wow your garden most be fill with colour , i never seem to get a lot of luck with clematis u most have the golden touch, i am looking for a clematis to grow over a roofed trellis could u suggest a good reliable fast grower that flowers in  and around august is quite a large area to cover  thanks

Any particular colour you would like? There are hundreds of Clematis which flower in August. They like a limey soil so if you are on an acid peaty type of soil perhaps that is why they are not as happy as they should be.

Is there a late flowering one which would grow through a 20-foot tree? I have a large hawthorn down the bottom of my plot, and I keep thinking vaguely of having climbers growing up through it - maybe a rose and a clematis - to add a bit of colour later in the season.

Lots, some of the C. orientalis types are vigorous, eg Bill McKenzie as are C. jackmannii and C. j. superba.
Had you any particular colour sceme in mind?

Were they all out in flower at the same time?
As i have some of those varieties, but they have all flowered at different times.

All the photos were taken in our garden on May 30th, Some are just finishing and some are just starting.

I really like the pointy blue one (blue flower freak me), no 13.  What is it ?  I am looking for a climber that likes partial - full shade and doesnt go bonkers.  I was thinking honeysuckle ?

No 13 is one of the forms of C. alpina, which one I am not sure, there are a lot of them all slightly different. It usually flowers from April onwards, but this year is so odd.
Both Clem and Honeysuckles like feet in shade and head in sun to perform best.

thanks Eric for the imfo,`really am not worried about the colour would just like a reliable climber if there is such a thing , i have 2 montana rubbens and they seem to be growing fine and a russian vine that grows like a weed , not sure what type of soil i have , tried nelly moser  and that died so it could be my soil or perhaps my gardening skillls lol so any suggestions would be gratefully accepted thanks
