I hope the majority of you have had a dry day, because its been diabolical up here in the Scottish Borders.   Rain!!!   I haven't seen rain like it in a long time.  It started last night and was torrential all day.   I feel so sorry for the wee lambs in the fields.  They look proper miserable and are either standing against their mothers or sheltering against the walls.  I am sure a lot of them will die if this pesky rain continues.  Roll on Spring!!!  even winter wasnt like this!!

Been raining heavy in this part of Yorkshire all afternoon, doesn't look like I'll get much done on the land this weekend :(. On the other hand the stuff I have got in will be watered for about three weeks ::)

That must have been quite painful to watch the wee Lambs, I do hope the weather turns for the better for all of you. ;) :)

Awww I too feel sorry for the little lambs... :'(

We had a wet and drizzly day here in the south east yesterday - this morning it looks even worse with lots of fog.   :(

This morning is the first time it has fully stopped raining since early Thursday mornings.  On Thursday and Friday Mums and kids at school gates were strangely reminiscent of your lambs Carol.  I know it was forecast on metwatch but I didn't really think it meant solid and continuous - lawns are ponds at the moment.

No outside play for my son at school for two days - you can imagine loads of kids just bouncing of the walls when they get home!  Luckily my very hyper young man is off to gymnastics this morning to work off some of the surplus energy.

As ive been at work solidly since Wednesday the rain hasnt bothered me and im on half day today (sat) and the weather looks ok, might get a bit done this afternoon and if it stays nice tomorow i should get a full day in.

Dry here in South Brum so far today but brrrrrrrrrrr!! it's cold - gonna be knitting little jackets for all my broad beans this afters............don't suppose those lambs have got any fleece to spare? ::)

Like Ceri says in the past few days in Whitley Bay we have had a constant downpour and it has been really chilly. Such a difference with the beginning of the week when the weather was fabulous, warm dry and sunny.  It's just going from one extreme to the another.

Went over to the lottie today now that the rain has stopped and a small end of my plot is flooded.  Not quite as bad as others but disheartening to see it that way.  At least it is good for the potatoes and my mixed salad leaves are peeping through.  Hope in the next few days it will be dry, to let the water seep away.  Even the new "Sage"centre had a leaky roof, so not the only one to suffer.   :) busy_lizzie

North Northumberland - rain, rain, heavy winds (had to vacate the greenhouse in case the Scots Pine fell down), hail, rain, rain, gales, rain... lambs were fitted out with jackets, fields partly flooded, river over the banks, roads flooded.

I haven't been down to the allotment yet. Will the cloches have survived??  ::)  Dubious.

Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight the other night: "Its April! What do you expect?!" Its not been too bad a week in the east mids, lot of rain Thursday night, very cold on Friday, sunny spells all weekend, bit blowy. Good sowing conditions - wet soil drying quickly in the wind easily workable. Sowed a row of peas, carrots and some annuals. Lovely weekend actually for me, pottering about.  :)

It's not a good idea to be flippant about the weather when you are telling the nation what to expect, as sometimes lots of people die as a result of bad weather, >:( may have been funny on a comedy show like the "Two Ronnie's" ;D but not on a news show. ::)
