slugs/grapefruit

Have started eating fresh grapefruit again after an absence for a few years. I seem to recall there was some way of using the semisphere of skin in the battle against slugs but can't remember the details. Can anyone help me?

Hi Ya, Apparently you place the grapefruit semisphere open side down on the area and leave it. The slugs go in to shelter and you come along next day and dispose of as you see fit. I have never tried it so good luck and let us know if your successful
