I went to an open day at Knaresborough allotment site in North Yorkshire today. It was open as part of the "Feva" festival of Entertainment and Arts. They had a scarecrow competition, quiz and photo comp. and food and produce stalls. There were some great scarecrows and some lovely plots, but clearly not everybody had made an effort! Mind you they appear to have a big horsetail problem and I guess mid-August is a tricky time for an open day with holidays and being mid-harvest. Clearly a busy site, so that's the main thing!

Its nice to see how others do things isn't it Carol. Didn't get to make my cordial. A couple of days later and the flowers  had gone. Will keep in mind for next year
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

That's a shame- they did go quickly round here too. I used to find by the time I'd tracked down citric acid all the flowers had gone- O order it online now, although I did see it in Wilko this year.
