Lucky lucky you!  Great pick, great looking veggies, bet you had a great dinner!!

Lady Cosmos

Dinner was nice and I am very, very pleased that I am able to cook the whole year round with home grown potatoes and vegetables.
Nothing taste better and it feels so good preparing and cooking ""well grown and looked after"" veggies. :D

wardy

Did you see that prog on BBC1 last night where that family had to tighten their belts.  They would rather sell their clothing business than cut down on takeaways, fags, holidays and going out.  They were buying bags of green apples from Asda when they had an enormous apple orchard in their own garden!  They had a huge garden but turned their noses up at growing their own veg and would only buy packaged washed veg as they weren;t prepared to wash soil off veg.  As they tightened their belts they did acquaint themselves with their orchard and started to cook various apple dishes and began to enjoy going to the orchard as a family.  They didn't seem very busy and spent lots of time sitting about as they couldn't afford to go out as they had been spendig so much money on eating out etc.  I kept thinking why don't you go out and start growing some veg.  Did they ;D listen ......
I came, I saw, I composted

North Country Boy

I think a stew would be too easy, but your right wardy saves on washing up   ;)

To done this lovely spread justice i think i would do:

Leek and blue stilton soup (choice ingredient)
Potatoes Boulangere, using potatoes and shallotts
Mash some of the potato with the parsnip and roast the left over parsnips in honey (choice ingredient).
And to finish it off, a leg of lamb (choice ingredient)

Now Wheres my frying pan?  ;D

Debs

WOW!

Beautiful veg...

Leek & Potato soup,
or

roast veg cous cous with roast lamb...

or roast veg with garlic, olive oil, pancetta, cubed feta cheese, eaten warm with a good crusty bread to mop up all the delicious juices...

glass of red wine....

more red wine...
