Hi all,
While taking out side shoots and sorting out the tomato house today i noticed a lot of tiny red mites on the plants, are these a major problem and if so hows best to get rid of them..

Thank you all
Steve.

keep the plants damp but not wet and spray the undersides of the leafs they like it dry so if you can keep it damp they dont like it, you could also try an insecticidal soap to kill them off.
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

Palustris

If you can see them and they are red then they are not Red spider mites. They are too snall to see easily without a magnifying glass and they are brown not red. These are more likely baby 'blood' spiders. There seem to be a lot of them about this year.
