checked my pond today,there r tadpoles the size of my little fingernail swimming about and soaking up the sun.are these toads?

If you saw toad egg sacs they look like a long strip with a single line of dark dots. If you saw frog eggs they look like a gelatinous pile with lots of dark dots in a pile. I don't know how to tell the tadpoles apart. Maybe go on line and look for images?  You're way ahead of us weather wise. Our pond still covered with ice.
