Had to strip this down to replace the scraper which fits at the base of the helix cutting blade. Now I need to put the machine back together and find that the grease in the gears needs replacing. Bright green stuff, but what is it?
Anyone know?
TIA

There is an American product called Green Grease which is green in colour, but I've not seen it here.  It's a synthetic grease, so I'd go for Silkolene or other reputable make of synthetic grease to replace it with.  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-FUCHS-SILKOLENE-PRO-RG2-SYNTHETIC-RACING-GREASE-500G-/110910312665

Ta. Annoying that nowhere on the Bosch site do they say which grease to use.
There are various high temperature greases for gears/couplings which seem appropriate.
Will ask at the main dealers on Thursday as we have to go there anyway.
Thanks again.

I am only guessing here, but I think the only reason the grease is green is to aid in the manufacturing process, that is, it is dyed green to make it easy to see.
When you do get some it probably won't be green.

I guess it will be some type of coupling grease, that is grease that still sticks to the gears when they are spinning.
Sorry, not much help, hopefully the main dealer will be able to help you.

The main dealer who also repair these use a high temperature Lithium grease, so that is what I have got. Thanks for responses.
