not being a machine user,I prefer to make by hand but this is for my nephew and niece so want to buy them something reasonable.

I think they just want a basic model and wondered if there were any opinons on Panasonic jobbies..???

cheers

It's a bit cheaper on Amazon and there are 300 reviews of it !!

The basic ones are supposed to be quite good but if it's a gift and you have the dosh, then it seems a good buy.

I haven't used a Pansonic but they do get good reviews.  I bought an Argos Cookworks a couple of years ago and would definitely recommend it and its quite a bit cheaper than the Panasonic.  Sorry to throw a spanner in the works!

Cheers for the feedback about the amazon info,it appears to be good value for money and blow me down if Jude doesn't want one too for overnite baking when we move to feed  Mum, Jude and I fresh bread in the mornings,so although I luv the hands on dough bashing...ive relented and were getting 2....... :tongue3:

I'm a big fan of Morphy Richards breadmakers.  We had one for many years, and it was excellent.  We've now passed it on to my daughter where it continues to give great service.

The modern equivalent would be the Premium Plus Stainless Steel Breadmaker - 48319, which appears to be on special offer here, even cheaper than Amazon: http://www.morphyrichards.co.uk/products/cooking-and-baking/breadmakers/

This model avoids one annoyance with breadmaker bread, which is that the mixing paddle leaves a hole in the bottom of the loaf.  This one has a paddle that folds flat when the bread is mixed.
