They are offering a surprise.  When they opened Evesham there was a huge surprise, they had enough staff on the tills and they had shopping baskets.  Great.  But it did not last very long. :BangHead:

OH bought a chainsaw, and cannot get it to work.  So I tried to ring Lidl to find which store might still have a replacement.  Their stores are Xdirectory and they have no idea of what stock is in each shop.

they do have a number to ring but it will cost you £1.50 a min

Send a registered letter to head office - the managing director.  It'll be cheaper and you can keep a copy for later reference if you don't get satisfaction.

Got it working in the end. OH decided he would use a wrench to loosen the chain tightening screw.   He was worried about damaging it but since they would not help on the phone he decided to risk it.

So it cost me £1.50 just to be told they know nothing about anything. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

Managed to chop down a dead tree so it paid for itself in terms of paying someone to lop it.

Why did you go to a grocery store to buy a chainsaw :hmh:

They often have gardening equipment.  Some of it is quite good too and at a very reasonable price.  They also have videos on their website on how to use various garden tools or kitchen equipment.

I bought my chainsaw from there for under £55 and it's very good although, due to a wrist injury last year (bad one) I can't use it myself.  My son's pal, a very big lad comes round and cuts up logs for me.  He says it's very good.

Lidl is certainly not just a grocery store twice a week they have deliveries of other stuff.  They tend to be themed.  Some of their stuff is very good.  Such as stainless steel trowels, hand weeding hoes, pop up rubbish bags.  All unobtainable elsewhere for the same price and good quality.

Their work shoes are good too, always wear them for gardening.

Check out their weekly offers online.    Today they have cyclamen for 1.99 (last time I had one it lasted for months and months).   Pansies 10 for 1.99 as well, though I find Aldi ones better.  Certainly will be better than the garden centre who are offering 6 for £2.49.

Be careful it is a bit addictive.
