I have some really large red tomatoes which aren't going to get eaten so thought a good old chutney will be ideal. I've got some recipes off this site but the recipes go back to 2005. Any up to date recommendations?  (If the old ones are best then let me know as well !!)

Could you do that with red tomatoes instead Gavin?

Hello Fitzsie,

Have a look at Nigel Slater's "green tomato" chutney - it's really for a mix of green and red tomatoes.  Any ratio of red to green you like works, so I imagine that going the whole hog and using just red would be fine.  It's a lovely sweet chutney with raisins, onions and chilli.

Thanks for that one. I have a mixture of green and red so this will be ideal. I do love Nigel Slater's recipes as well, he has such a way of describing his recipes !!
