My husband has got to work in Birmingham on Saturday 15th June and I've just discovered that's when GW live is on so thinking of going down with him. Has anyone been? Is it worth it? I guess the Saturday's the busiest day?

I've been several times..and YES..Saturday will be busy. But if you are not in hurry and have plenty of time to kill it will be good day out...all that shopping to do :icon_cheers:
I would recommend to get there as soon as the gates open..that way you have chance to get to see lots before the crowds really start building up..and get to buy the best that there is on offer!

Leave plenty of time to go grazing around the food demonstrations. When we used to have to man the gardens we built, we always saved a fortune grabbing a bit of posh bread, some cheese or sausage, then a bit of pickle, finishing off with some nice ice cream or specialist yoghurt. The show gardens ain't bad either. Work it right at the end and keep going in and out with your wrist stamp and grabbing a free goody bag each time. Most of the plantsmen will give good advice on anything you buy. The last sunday is the best day as they sell off all the plants from the gardens.

Just ordered myself a ticket using £8 of Tesco clubcard vouchers instead of paying £19.95 plus £1.50 admin fee on the website.  :happy7:

Anybody else going on the Saturday and fancy meeting up for a coffee?

i always go on Sunday for the plant sell off and get some real bargains, i have seen Ace there a few times but hes always taking so have never got to say hello. And as he said loads of free bits and bobs food and drink wise but dont get ripped off by those people on the olive stall you at something and before you know it its £30 gone on not a lot so im avoiding them this year.

you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

Just push in and say hello, it would be a change to talk to a real gardener, most of he people who talk to me seemed to escaped from their minders :toothy10:

Trouble is I will not be there this year. A wedding venue to theme and preparing next years submission for Chelsea.

Well, talk about sod's law! I booked the ticket yesterday and now my OH finds he doesn't have to go to Birmingham that day after all. So watch this space for the offer of a free ticket for Saturday 15th. As I've booked with Clubcard vouchers I'll wait & see whether it has my name on, but if anyone is interested, send me a PM.

Oh dear..  I'm going on the first day with a mate of mine, I printed out an e-ticket and it does have my name on it, but every year I've been they just scan your barcode and get you through, I've never been asked for ID. I wonder how much the car parking will be this year, what an earner for the NEC..
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
