Just seen my Bank Statement to find npower have debited my Account to the tune of £126. Up to last month, I have been paying £53/month direct debit. So why a 138% increase? Can't speak to anyone as the Company are transferring accounts until next Tuesday.
A strong answer on their 'how did we do? has been sent.  :cussing:
Anyone else had problems?

I feel for you we are with Eon and this time last year we paid £350 electricity bill for the quarter Jan to April.
we had a letter to say that there was going to be a price increase of up to £69 per annum.
and for 2013 Jan to April quarter we have just received a bill for £495 .50.
all electricity companies have put the tariffs up and have introduced a standing charge.
I have rung them to say we can pay £350 of the bill as that is what I have budgeted for an they will have to wait for the rest.

we are about to switch as we have been a customer we Eon for over 10 years and they did not put us on a lower tariff in January as they can't do it without our consent :BangHead: who in there right minds would pay a higher tariff if given the choice of a cheaper one.
looking around EDF look the cheapest. you may want to give Uswitch a ring they were more than helpful.

Don't hold your breath over a lower tarriff. I had a letter from my company offering me a choice of tarriffs and reccomending the best one for me. It works out at £156  a year more. Sent them a short note back to them consisting  of two words,  one of them being off

Dear customer

What with it being a cold winter and wanting you to stay warm we have calculated that your monthly tariff should be adjusted from £96 per month to £272 per month.

Hey ho I`ll be asking 5% interest on the balance.

£495 per quarter for electricity is huge, do you use it for heating.   I was upset that mine was £115.

That is exactly what happened to us..coming to a new contract they 'recommended' new tariff..when I checked out online..it was good £50 more than their cheapest tariff..recommended tariff was cheapest with 'free' Tesco points..we weren't collecting them in first place and won't be paying that amount of extra for the bloody points neither.. :BangHead:
What kind of saving is that...!?

People in the Yorkshire region might be interested in signing up for this "bulkbuying" initiative.
[url]http://www.communityenergy.info[url] There's no commitment but worth a try.

Be quick though, I think you have to sign up by something like 17th April.

Sorry, something wrong with the link
